Towns and communities of different languages, cultures, traditions and economic backgrounds.
A formal agreement between the different communities involved, however geographically distant from each other, ratified – with particular reference to the differences – the precise nature of the relationship and the determination to meet periodically to confront common issues; the will to “twin” with each other and develop relationships, culturally, economically, politically, and socially, through local institutions, interested parties, associations between towns and citizens in every part of Europe.

The development of the region, local territory, visibility at European level, economic and collaborative exchanges, a reciprocal meeting of minds.  These are just some of the positive effects of “Town twinning” to be seen in the areas of civic, economic and moral involvement.
